Take the Purple Pledge

Purple Day in Kenya

Have anything purple in your closet? No? Then you may want to start to think creatively because Purple Day is just around the corner. Purple Day, March 26, 2012, is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide.

History of Purple Day
On March 26th each year since 2008, people around the world wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness. Purple Day was founded by nine-year-old Cassidy Megan of Nova Scotia and named after the internationally recognized color for epilepsy. Purple Day launched internationally in 2009. Now in 2012, people will be participating in Purple Day in countries on all continents INCLUDING Antarctica!

Young Epilepsy Pledge

Young Epilepsy take the Pledge
In the UK, Young Epilepsy is asking people to take the Purple Pledge. A pledge can be anything including: wearing purple at work or school, baking purple cupcakes or even attending a concert to support epilepsy awareness.
