EFEPA Mardi Gras was a success

The glitterati of Philadelphia were out on Friday February 8, to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern PA. Despite the snow and wind, the guests looked fabulous as did the space.

Allison McCartin, Executive Director noted, “I’m pleased to report that we surpassed our goal.”  This year, the EFEPA is launching Keys to Independence, a program specifically designed to help Young Adults with epilepsy transition into adulthood. The program will provide workshops and supportive events that encourage participants to build leaderships skills, personal strengths, and become a participating member in the wonderful community of peers that surrounds them.

The food and music made for a festive atmosphere and the attendees enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with one another.

I took a moment to speak to Gregory Osberg, former CEO of Philadelphia Media Network, and asked about his connection to epilepsy. He mentioned his son’s epilepsy and noted, “We take each day as it comes.”
